Emerytury pomostowe finansowane są ze specjalnie utworzonego, odrębnego Funduszu Emerytur Pomostowych. Jest to fundusz celowy, którego dysponentem jest ZUS. Główne źródła przychodu tego funduszu to: dotacja budżetu państwa, opłacane przez pracodawców składki na FEP i oprocentowanie rachunków bankowych FEP.
